There are a few basic rules that I let everyone know before they join the production cast or crew.
These rules apply to everyone.
The most important.
We can't use you if you don't show up!
If you are on set we WILL get you acting. If you blow off an appointment you WILL be forgotten.
The second rule.
Communication is the key!
You have to let us
know
what your doing. If your running late call.
If you can think of
some ideas for your character. Let us know.
If something about the
production is rubbing you the wrong way.
Talk to us. We can't
make good entertainment.
If we don't know
what's
on your mind.
The third rule.
Read the script!!
We post the
script
online so you can decide if this is a project you want to be a part of.
Please read it before your first meeting.
If you have been cast
for a role. Study and learn your lines and the actions that go along
with
it. If you have a problem reading it on-line. See rule #2. E-mail or
call
us. I can send a copy via e-mail or help you understand how to make
what's
online work.
The fourth rule.
Tolerance!
If you can't work
with
people who are different than you.
Please don't bother.
This is a VERY different group.
You have to learn to
deal with other personalities.
The Fifth rule.
Speak English!
A mastery of
english is essential. Please accents are acceptable, but you have to be
able to communicate with the rest of the cast and crew effectively.
The sixth rule.
Be able to take direction.
I need to be able
to
direct you.
You have to be able
to follow instructions.
Otherwise your
wasting
not just your time,
but the time of
everyone
else on set.
The Seventh Sign
Don't do a read. Act.
Don't be
afraid to spit when you perform.
Don't stop if you think you are doing something stupid. Being an actor
requires flair, guts, and not being afraid to do something that others
would not do. If you can't act interesting. Then people will not want
to watch you.
If your doing your
best.
I'll be very happy. If your not putting in any extra effort. We will be
able
to tell.... and so will an audience.
Overall that's it. There are benefits to being a part of something that will stay forever. Movies make you immortal after a fashion. Thanks for taking the time to read this. I hope we can all tell great tales together.
